About
On the banks of the Rio Mampituba, Cantinho do Pescador traces its origins to the trailer where fisherman Moacir Manoel Daitx, known as Moa, served fish and shellfish in the 1970s. Ten years later, it became Cantinho de Palha. In April 1994, Moa leased the restaurant to two of his waiters, beginning the chapter in which Rose joined its story. The restaurant celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2024.
Seafood is the specialty, alongside beef tenderloin and chicken options. The restaurant reports options for people with coeliac disease or food intolerances; ask the team about preparation. Menus are available in English and Spanish.
Open daily from 11am to midnight. The restaurant seats 250 people and has a children’s area, outdoor tables overlooking the river, access ramps, a restroom for people with reduced mobility and a designated pet area.
