About

Unveiled in 1988 with sponsorship from SAPT, Monumento ao Surfista was created by artist Leda Christina Nácul. Titled O Tubo, the reinforced-concrete sculpture depicts a surfer riding a wave.

It stands in the square beside SAPT, near Chalé Memorial do Surf, forming part of a walk through the city’s surfing heritage.
